South Wind Ranch Wedding | Greenville Wedding Photography

Sydney and Kendall’s South Wind Ranch wedding was an intimate spring celebration filled with thoughtful details, incredible food, and plenty of room to slow down and enjoy the people they love most. As their wedding photographer, I especially loved how relaxed the day felt. With a smaller gathering of family and friends, there was space for genuine moments to unfold naturally—and for Sydney and Kendall to really be present with each other throughout the day.

Getting Ready at South Wind Ranch

One of my favorite things about photographing a wedding at South Wind Ranch is the amazing getting-ready space. Having a beautiful, spacious place to begin the day makes such a difference, both for the wedding party and for photos. There was plenty of room for everyone to get ready without feeling crowded, while still giving me opportunities to photograph the little moments happening.

South Wind Ranch also has wonderfully spacious grounds, which gave us so many options for portraits without ever needing to leave the property. I love a venue where we can move from one location to another and create completely different images while keeping the timeline relaxed.

An Intimate South Wind Ranch Wedding

Sydney and Kendall chose to keep their wedding on the smaller side, and I loved the atmosphere it created. Their day felt personal and centered around celebrating with the people closest to them rather than trying to fill every moment with something to do.

They also included some really fun touches for their guests—including a dirty soda bar, which was such a playful addition to the reception. And the food from Southern Way Catering was incredible. Good food, good drinks, and your favorite people gathered together is a pretty great recipe for a wedding reception.

Creative Wedding Portraits

My favorite part of Sydney and Kendall’s wedding day, though, was getting creative with the two of them during their portraits.

They trusted me enough to play around with ideas, experiment, and make something a little different. At one point, we spent a few minutes simply tossing Sydney’s bouquet back and forth while I photographed it against the bright blue sky. It took a little teamwork—and probably a few questionable throws—but we ended up with this beautiful image of her bouquet seemingly suspended in the sky.

Those are some of my favorite moments as a photographer: when we aren’t trying to perfectly recreate something we’ve seen before, but instead have the freedom to play and see what happens.

Sydney and Kendall were completely willing to go along with it, and that trust allowed us to create portraits that felt fun, artistic, and uniquely theirs.

Sydney and Kendall’s South Wind Ranch wedding was such a sweet reminder that a wedding doesn’t have to be enormous or overly complicated to be memorable. A beautiful space, incredible food, a few personal touches, the people you love, and enough breathing room to actually enjoy it can make for an incredible day.
