Many brides, especially those unfamiliar with this typically Southern tradition, find bridal portraits to be a valuable part of the wedding process! First, I’ll explain exactly what bridal portraits are and why they’re so helpful for you on your bridal experience.
Bridal portraits are professional photos of the bride in her wedding attire before the wedding day. They capture her beauty and provide a trial run for hair and makeup. It’s a great way to get to know your photographer more before the big day and get out all the pre-wedding nerves in a fun, relaxed environment. It’s also just a fun time to play dress up! Here are some reasons why you should consider a bridal portrait session:

At the heart of George and Rachel’s relationship is a beautiful friendship. They truly are each other’s best friends and strongest supporters. While they enjoy shared activities, they also like their individual hobbies. Their bond of almost five years is filled with laughter and mutual respect, and they are eager to start a family of their own and begin their lives together. It was so sweet to capture this precious season with Rachel and George as fiances with Greenville engagement photos!
One of their favorite pastimes is watching TV together. Early on in their relationship, they created a long list of TV shows and movies to watch. They are still working through that list today! Their weekday ritual includes watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy during dinner. They also love outdoor activities, particularly long bike rides on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Over the years, they’ve embraced “at-home” date nights and love trying out new recipes together. Traveling is another passion of theirs, even though Rachel admits she’s not the biggest fan of flying.
Rachel and George’s journey began back in middle and high school, where they shared mutual friends. But the funny thing is, these two really didn’t hang out back then. It wasn’t until they both moved back to Greenville after college that they reconnected at George’s annual birthday bonfire in 2018. Since then, they’ve navigated the highs and lows of life together. From job layoffs and the loss of George’s grandparents to buying a house and witnessing the birth of George’s identical twin nephews, their experiences have only strengthened their connection as a couple.
George’s love for outer space adds a unique touch to their story. Every year, on the anniversary of his brother’s passing, they visit the planetarium at Roper Mountain Science Center. This tradition honors his brother’s memory and brings George joy on a difficult day.
Despite their differing personalities—George being an introvert and Rachel more outgoing—they find a fun balance in their relationship. They’re homebodies who cherish social interactions but also value their alone time to recharge. I loved getting to know them and their personalities better at this session!
George and Rachel’s Greenville engagement photos capture the essence of their love story. It’s a story of friendship, resilience, and unwavering support. Keep scrolling for all the fun photos from their session!

If you’ve seen this couple on the blog before, you know they have a special place in my heart! Taylor is my baby sister, and I also got to photographer their Sailboat Proposal. Today, I have the honor of sharing their Downtown Greenville engagement photos, photographed by my good friend, Megan Byrne. Edited by me, of course! 🙂
We started out the session in Falls Park up by the gorgeous blooms! I love this spot in the springtime. Then, we walked over to the new Carmella’s Dessert Bar for one of their famous cakes. Taylor and Collin split the peanut butter cup cake, and it was to die for! You have to try this place the next time you are downtown!
We finished up the session further up main street and also on the Grace Church Downtown steps- one of my favorite spots for a brighter backdrop and gorgeous columns and steps. I love that Greenville has such an amazing variety of photo locations right in the heart of downtown. And multiple vantage points to catch the sunset like we were able to.

Halle and Collier’s relationship is built on a foundation of friendship. They are each other’s best friend! Through their Hotel Domestique engagement photos, I really wanted to focus on the love, humor, and playfulness that’s infused into their relationship. Halle and Collier joke around, exchange playful insults, and love to show off our friendly sassiness. It adds an extra layer of fun, and I was all about it!
Beyond all the fun & games, Halle and Collier share core values of their faith in Jesus. They are committed to following His direction in their relationship, marriage, and future family. And these two said, “Whether it’s during our lowest or highest points, we’re always there for each other.”
When I asked about their love story, Halle and Collier told me they met through their mutual friend, Caitlyn, when they were 19! They broke up after 7 months and never saw each other or spoke to each other for a little over one year. Eventually, though, God had bigger plans, and these two found their way back to each other. They started dating again in August of 2022. And they are recently engaged in December 2, 2023! (Fun fact: Caitlyn is Halle’s maid of honor!)
“We can’t keep surprises from each other!!” Halle said. “For instance, I knew about Collier’s proposal in advance.” She says that her knowing about it still added an element of excitement and anticipation to the moment. She felt like she was more nervous than he was!
I’m so excited to share more of these two and their beautiful Hotel Domestique engagement photos on the blog today! Contact me today about your engagement session.

Jessica and Drew started dating in high school and have been together ever since. We sure do love a good sweetheart story around here! We celebrated their wedding at Cross Creek Plantation, and I’m excited to share more about these middle school sweethearts today!
Here is a little more about this sweet couple. Drew is a realtor and pilot. He likes to golf and fish around the Charleston area. Jessica works at Boeing and likes to exercise, walk, and be outside. Together they love to go out to eat, travel, hike, love on their cat, and relax.
Their love story begins in the chatrooms of AIM as middle schoolers. Their relationship turned into something more in early high school. Staying together through those formative years was not always easy. Jessica and Drew attended different colleges with Drew at the University of Alabama and Jessica at Clemson University.
While their long distance relationship proved difficult at times, true love carried them through. Jessica completed her masters degree at UofA during Drew’s last year of college. That year was their first real experience fully together. Then, after college they moved to Charleston and made it their home.
Something unique about Jessica and Drew’s wedding day was the fact that there wasn’t a wedding party. This made for a very intimate and romantic ceremony, surrounded by family and friends.
Ceremony: Trinity Baptist
Reception: Cross Creek Plantation
Hair: Audrey Hernandez
Makeup: Audrey Hernandez
Dress: Poinsett Bride / Justin Brand
Flowers: Glinda’s Florist
Band: Emerald Empire Band

Sheridan and Parker tied the knot at a private residence that is very meaningful to their family. It was the most gorgeous blush pink wedding in Taylors, SC. I cannot wait to share more from this wedding with you on the blog today!
Choosing to celebrate their special day in this intimate setting allowed highlighted their love for family and tradition. Sheridan’s vision for her wedding day was “effortlessly put together, romantic, and simple with antique/thrifted decor.” She definitely accomplished this vision! The prettiest hues of blush and light pink were all around, and I was obsessed with the setup!
Here is what Sheridan and Parker had to say about their experience with me as their wedding photographer:
“You were confident. The photos didn’t feel awkward or too posed. You gave great direction when needed but also stepped back to capture the perfect candids and emotion shots. You were so very kind and created a space that felt comforting and safe on a day that could be stressful. Also, the photographs turned out beautifully and true to life on that day.“
I’m not crying, you’re crying! Getting sweet feedback like this from my couples is just the best! I don’t ever take it lightly that my job is to preserve lasting legacies for my couples. And it’s just a cherry on top when they have such kind things to say about the experience.
