Halle and Collier’s relationship is built on a foundation of friendship. They are each other’s best friend! Through their Hotel Domestique engagement photos, I really wanted to focus on the love, humor, and playfulness that’s infused into their relationship. Halle and Collier joke around, exchange playful insults, and love to show off our friendly sassiness. It adds an extra layer of fun, and I was all about it!
Beyond all the fun & games, Halle and Collier share core values of their faith in Jesus. They are committed to following His direction in their relationship, marriage, and future family. And these two said, “Whether it’s during our lowest or highest points, we’re always there for each other.”
When I asked about their love story, Halle and Collier told me they met through their mutual friend, Caitlyn, when they were 19! They broke up after 7 months and never saw each other or spoke to each other for a little over one year. Eventually, though, God had bigger plans, and these two found their way back to each other. They started dating again in August of 2022. And they are recently engaged in December 2, 2023! (Fun fact: Caitlyn is Halle’s maid of honor!)
“We can’t keep surprises from each other!!” Halle said. “For instance, I knew about Collier’s proposal in advance.” She says that her knowing about it still added an element of excitement and anticipation to the moment. She felt like she was more nervous than he was!
I’m so excited to share more of these two and their beautiful Hotel Domestique engagement photos on the blog today! Contact me today about your engagement session.

I have the most incredible sailboat proposal for you! This one is extra special, because a very special person was involved- my sister, Taylor. On October 22, I was packing up my camera gear getting ready to leave Hannah & Hunter’s wedding when my phone buzzed. It was Collin (my sister’s boyfriend), and I knew from that very moment why he was calling me. You see, I had told him if he was going to propose that I’d better know about it. And I’m certainly glad he listened! 🙂
Fast forward almost a month later, on November 18, and it was finally the day that we would remember forever! My family was staying at the amazing Villa in Folly Beach. What my sister, Taylor, didn’t know was that we were keeping a little secret. Funny enough, we kept the secret from my mom until the day before too!
Collin chartered a boat, and my husband, Bryce, and I both got to photograph the proposal, hiding just below deck. Y’all! When I tell you, no lie, my heart was racing at 120 beats per minute while we awaited the signal- the captain tapping on the door. Just call us undercover spies I guess!
It was unseasonably warm for November. And in true fairytale-like fashion, there was a pod of dolphins swimming around the boat. Talk about a perfect moment! After we captured Taylor’s enthusiastic “YES!” we told her we had to leave quickly to go pick up our kids from my in-laws house. However, we we were back up to the shenanigans again! In reality, we were racing back to the house to prepare for the surprise celebration to come.
Collin told Taylor they were stopping by a family friend’s (Keri) house in Folly to tell her the news. When they arrived there were 50 of their closest friends and family ready to celebrate! Collin’s mom had arranged for an amazing bbq dinner, and we laughed and talked the night away. It was the best day celebrating my baby sister who is so special to me!
We will remember this night forever, and I’m so excited to relive it with you on the blog today!

Greenville offers countless photo spots, from lush parks to historic streets. Whether you love nature, cityscapes, or modern backdrops, discuss options with your photographer. Finding locations that match your vision is key!

Hotel Domestique looks like it was plucked straight from the French countryside. Yet, this iconic location is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering a slice of European charm right here in South Carolina. With its rolling hills, grand stone architecture, and intimate ambiance, it’s easy to see why so many couples are drawn to this venue for their engagement sessions.
I recently had the pleasure of capturing Devyn and Michael’s engagement portraits at Hotel Domestique, and it was pure magic. These two have such a natural chemistry, and it radiates through every single image. From the moment we started, they were effortlessly themselves—laughing, embracing, and sharing quiet, meaningful moments. There was no need for overly posed shots; their love spoke for itself. Just keep scrolling and you’ll see exactly what I mean.
One of the things I love most about Devyn and Michael is how much fun they have together. No matter what life throws their way, they always find a reason to celebrate—whether it’s a small promotion, trying out a new restaurant, or planning a spontaneous date night after a stressful day. Their love language is acts of service, so for them, the little things mean the most. A morning coffee made just the way they like it, a simple note left on the counter, or a sweet surprise after a long day—these moments are what define their love. It’s these everyday acts of kindness and thoughtfulness that truly make their relationship special.
Hotel Domestique was the perfect setting to capture their love story. This boutique hotel is not just a backdrop—it’s an experience. The European-inspired architecture, the peaceful fountain terrace, and the breathtaking mountain views created a romantic and timeless atmosphere for their session. It felt like we had been transported to a countryside retreat in Provence, even though we were just a short drive from Greenville.
Every spot we explored added a unique touch to their gallery. The ivy-covered walls provided an elegant, old-world charm, while the open landscapes gave us the perfect golden hour glow. As the sun dipped behind the mountains, Devyn and Michael shared a quiet moment by the fountain, soaking in the beauty around them. It was such a sweet reminder that engagement sessions aren’t just about capturing beautiful photos; they’re about celebrating this exciting chapter before the wedding day.
If you’re considering Hotel Domestique for your engagement session, here are a few tips to make the most of your experience:

When I talked with Hannah Grace and Hunter about the vision for their Biltmore Estate engagement session, they shared their desire for candid moments. “We want to see the real us in the photos, not just us posing for photos. We love candid photos. We both have great senses of humor and enjoy having fun together. We would really like the fun sides of our personalities to show through these photos.”
I’m so glad they chose the Biltmore House as the location for these portraits. Both Hannah Grace and Hunter enjoy hiking and goings on walks together as a couple. They describe it as their way of bonding. Being able to relax together doing activities like these gives them time to reflect and talk together. They also try to visit the Biltmore House every so often because of its sentimental value. This estate is where they spent their first New Years together as a couple, and it is also where Hunter proposed.
One of my favorite part about this beautiful estate is its unique charms as its beauty changes with each season. Whether your engagement session is set against the vibrant colors of spring, the warmth of summer, the rich hues of autumn, or the enchantment of winter, each season brings its own magic to your photos here.
Thinking about taking your own Biltmore Estate engagement photos? I’d love to chat with you and help your vision come to life. Your engagement photos at the Biltmore Estate will serve as a stunning testament to your unique love story and the natural beauty of your relationship. Contact me today!
