A Valentine’s Season to Remember

As a Charleston photographer, few sessions feel as meaningful as photographing families. Recently, I had the joy of documenting my sister Taylor and her husband Collin during their Sullivan’s Island maternity session.

This session took place shortly after Valentine’s Day, which made it feel even more special. After all, what better way to celebrate love than preparing to welcome a baby?

The evening was beautiful from the very beginning. Soft coastal light filled the beach, while gentle waves rolled onto the shore. Meanwhile, the ocean breeze created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed session.

Celebrating Their Growing Family

Taylor and Collin are entering such a sweet season of life. Because of that, it was important to create images that reflected both their excitement and connection.

Throughout the session, we focused on natural moments together. Rather than forcing stiff poses, we spent time walking along the shoreline and enjoying the evening. As a result, their photographs feel genuine and full of joy.

As the evening went on, Sullivan’s Island continued to show off. The sandy dunes, open shoreline, and soft sky created a timeless backdrop. At the same time, the peaceful beach allowed us to slow down and enjoy every moment.

As a Charleston photographer, I love how coastal locations create photographs that feel both timeless and personal. Every family brings a different story, and every session reflects that.

Most of all, this session celebrated a season they will never experience again. The anticipation, excitement, and quiet moments together made the evening unforgettable.

I cannot wait to meet my newest niece or nephew and watch Taylor and Collin begin this exciting new chapter as parents.
